The New Hampshire Child Passenger Safety Program (NH CPS) is another highway safety program of the Injury Prevention Center located at the Children’s Hospital of Dartmouth.
This program provides technical assistance to professional individuals and to members of the public. Consultation is available for transporting children with special medical needs.
New Hampshire’s Child Passenger Safety Law
New Hampshire’s CPS law, RSA 265:107-a, took effect on January 1, 2014. Please click here to see the specific requirements of the law.
Child Passenger Safety Inspections
Inspections are conducted by certified technicians who provide one on one information about the proper use of car seats. A list of permanent inspection stations within New Hampshire is available by calling toll-free (877)-783-0432 or by visiting the http://beseatsmartnh.org web page.
New Hampshire’s CPS program also conducts car seat inspections at community events throughout the state.
CPS Technician Training
Please consider becoming a certified child passenger safety technician so that you can assist us with our mission of making certain that all car seats are properly installed.
CPS technicians and instructors use their knowledge and experience by installing car seats or inspecting those already installed. In doing so you have the opportunity to guarantee the safety of children traveling in motor vehicles. Opportunities exist statewide at the various inspection stations or car seat check up events.
